Apparently, Nobody Calls It Frisco

Today was another travel day, so it's been largely uneventful.

LA was the first place so far that I've been sorry about leaving. I don't really know why... but I'm guessing I didn't mind leaving Vegas because of (a) the heat and (b) what San Diego was all about. San Diego I didn't mind leaving, because Comicon was over, so it pretty much seemed like a natural thing.

I didn't see anywhere near enough of LA, heck, I didn't even really explore Pasadena so well. I get the feeling that I could spend months in LA and keep finding new things though, so I guess the important part from here is to put the missed opportunities behind me, and focus on having fun up here in San Francisco.

Just based on first impressions, San Francisco is not living up to the hype (again, probably my fault). I could just be in a part of SF that is not so good, but actually seeing a lot of the decay around here and seeing the wierd mix of people on the street kinda makes me see where all the stereotypes of American cities come from. (Again, I'll say that I spent almost no time downtown while I was in LA, so it could have been just as bad or worse there, I just didn't see it).

Other observations:
Quiznos "Black Angas Double Cheesesteak" is not good.
Neither is root beer (slightly less disgusting than sarsparilla, but not much).
When the TSA rummage your undies, they're nice enough to leave a card in your luggage to let you know you've been violated
The more you pay for a hotel, the more you have to spend (for instance, in room internets will cost me $10/day while I'm here - it was free at the Comfort Inn)

I think it's almost time for drinkin!

My "I'm sorry you've been violated" cards are still at the printers... so until then, you're just going to have put up with the vague headache and the not quite sure where you were last night feeling.
